What is STORM Elite?

A competitive girls lacrosse travel team(s) that will train year round with travel teams competing in the Fall and Summer seasons.

We are currently registering for STORM Elite for graduation years of 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 for Fall, 2013.  STORM Elite is for the serious lacrosse player that might aspire to play college lacrosse.  Tryouts will occur on Sunday, September 8 – REGISTER HERE.

We will also offer this Fall, 2013 try-outs for STORM RVA (1 high school team and 1 middle school team), STORM W-BURG (1 high school team and 1 middle school team), STORM HANOVER (1 high school team and 1 middle school team) and STORM F-BURG (1 high school team and 1 middle school team).  These programs do fall under the direction of STORM Lacrosse, however will have less commitment to practice and tournaments thus less in price point.  This program is recommended for those that need more coaching and development in order to prepare themselves for their spring school seasons and to further prepare them for STORM Elite tryouts for next summer (tryouts held in February, 2014).  Please check back on 8/20 for registration details.

We develop each individual student-athlete and focus on taking their game to the next level if as a middle school or high school athlete.  We strive to provide an atmosphere that is fun, exciting and competitive.  Our staff of college, USA and high school coaches & players will work towards crafting each young girl into a well-rounded and responsible lacrosse player who can succeed at the high school and college level.

We place many DI – DII – DIII collegiate players each year thanks to the commitment of the STORM staff led by STORM Co-Directors and former DI coaches, Sue Murphy & Barb DiArcangelo.

What are the ages/grades of those allowed to try-out?

We would like to host the following teams this Fall, 2013:

Do I have to come to all of the events?

Yes, it is our intent to build our program so that you all gel as a team, thus producing more individual excellence.  We understand that you MIGHT have some conflicts in Fall that are out of your immediate control (possible playoffs/post season, weddings, SATs, etc. that we will might consider as an acceptable excuse AS LONG AS YOU REACH OUT TO COACH BARB IN ADVANCE OF TRYOUTS at barb@newworldsports.biz).  The more tournaments you attend, the more chemistry you will have with your teammates, and the better you will perform for the college coaches.  Not to mention, a large part of being on STORM is just having fun, so we try and do that as much as we can.

What if I want to register for the year above me?

All players must compete with their own age group.   This helps college coaches when recruiting and will make our placement of student-athletes much easier to navigate.

What do I do if I want to get additional STORM Elite gear?

STORM is committed to providing each player with the things necessary to compete.  However, we also have gear for the parents and players to enjoy during the year offered through an online store/catalog.  We will make every effort to have an online order ready to go in conjunction with announcement of teams.  Please do not pay for extra STORM gear until you have honored your Club Dues.

What if I have questions about College?

STORM Elite is committed to trying to find the best place for you to compete at the college level.   As a coaching staff we are always happy to help you come up with some ideas, and discuss your future. You can email your respective coach with questions.  We have placed MANY players into college lacrosse programs including DI, DII and DIII universities – we feel very fortunate to have a staff that has the relationships and connections at the next level to assist your families as you find the ‘right fit.’  Co-Director Sue Murphy will provide recruitable-aged guidelines so we have a complete understanding of what we can and will provide to our student-athletes & their families.  We WILL NOT do this for you, but will instead guide you and teach you how to do the research.  If you are interested in a FULL SERVICE RECRUITING SERVICE where Sue Murphy would be your LEAD RECRUITING COORDINATOR, please consider looking into Be The Beast Recruiting at http://www.btbrecruiting.com/btb/girlslacrosse.  Clients from across the country take advantage of this service if they want a full service recruiting plan for their daughters.  If you choose this route, please mention STORM Lacrosse for a discount.

Returned Checks will have a fee of $35.00
